Is this a Bug? was created by Nik
Hi Guys!

Do you see Poicly's post about his Soltek mobo in 2 categories, too?
I'm getting a permanent notification for a new post in the Hardware Discussion -> Motherboard, CPU & RAM overview about this, but on the right side it says, last post is is from James in the skylake topic.

And the same post is shown under RETRO -> Hardware, notifications for new posts here work fine.

Good spot

its actually the forum software not making it very clear, but the original post was posted in mobo, cpu and ram but I moved it to retro hardware as it was an older motherboard.

when you move it you can choose to just straight move it over to the other forum or you can choose to move it but leave the "shadow" thread in its original place so the original user can find their thread easy, which I did :-)

most forum setups put MOVED: at the start of the title in the original location, I will see if we can implement that!

I got rid of the green notification.
just clicked on "mark all read".

It seems that it isnt a bug but more of how it operates.

The moving of the post and leaving a "shadow thread" results in this behavior as any new posts in the new moved thread seems to show in the shadow thread like it is hidden as Nik suggested. Hopefully they release an update to our forum software to save me having to hack it to rectify this. But as until then we will need to live with it and use the "mark all read" option.

What browser are you using and its version if you dont mind Nik so I can look into it further.

Thanks Nik :)

How do you find the site across all those browsers?

shortcuts work well. ;)
worst browsers were FF 2.0.20 (Win98 & 2000) and IE6 on Win 2000.
BUT...they still display it somehow.
It even looks great on my android phone.

Excellent glad its working.

The idea was to keep it as simple as possible!

Maybe we should go more retro and make it more backward compatible with older browsers as its cool to have a site to browse and use from older machines.

Have you tried this yet?
