Yeah but you could still upgrade the cooler and cut the cooler down with a hacksaw and then as its aluminium you can drill two pilot holes where it will mount and then just use self tapping screws and some sort of non conductive washer for either side of the gpu board.

Its an afternoons work and you feel like you have acheived something when your card takes a much better overclock. Might look into making up some different water cooler brackets so that we can fit it to various GPUS old and new :)
