GTX 1060 upgrade? was created by Vampire
I am thinking about upgrading to a GTX 1060 3gb but I don't know if it is worth it considering that Volta probably will be released in the beginning of 2018. I can buy the GTX 1060 for 2150 SEK today because it is on sale right now. What do you guys think?

a 1060 for 225 euros/210 pounds
nearly the same price here (ranges from 215 to 399€).
like you said it's PROBABLY comming in 2018...
I would get it, the price for the volta might be starting at 600+...

Yeah people are speculating that the prices will be higher than Pascal. I have looked at some benchmarks comparing the 6gb model and the 3gb model and there seemes to be little difference in fps if you have the settings turnd down to high and no MSAA on.

I'm afraid the prices might be RIDICULOUS, even higher than pascal prices when released...

Probably, considering what happened to the Vega prices...

I wouldn't buy a complete new generation of hardware anyway.
had some bad experience a while ago with some brand new parts (I think it was a gfx card and a cpu, not sure)...
I'm the type that buys the 2nd generation of hardware, when all the errors haven been worked out. ;)

I'm with Nik, I prefer running 12-18 months behind and its amazing how cheap it can work out, sometimes around 80% less cash required!

Are you gaming at 1080p? a GTX 1060 should be pretty future proof for the next few years at 1080p I would have thought!

yeah Martin, that's the other advantage I forgot...
I bought my GF960 18 months after the 10xx series was out in the shops and paid 75% less than before. ;)
It's not the ultimate card, but worth it's money.
