Hello and welcome to the NEW Hardware Hackers Forum. Before we re launched Hardware Hackers in 2016 we used to run a pretty busy Hardware Hackers forum back in 2004-2005 so its great to see it come back to life and hope to get that old school community feel back together with a new group of users!

Over the past few weeks/months we have been putting in a lot of effort in the background to build the website and forum and get it all integrated together. It would have been easy to just setup a basic forum and get it online but we have integrated it into the website so it has a lot of potential in the future to grow with the site, enabling us to add features such as a gallery, for sale pages, user hardware database etc etc all using the same user accounts and profiles.

The website has a lot more work to be done before its finished and ready, but we are spending 100% of our time on the forum at the moment to get it online and start building a community we can all be proud of. Remember this is YOUR forum, so we hope you like it, feel free to let us know of any comments, suggestions, bugs etc in the relevant threads and we will look to develop it and make it perfect.

Over the coming few weeks we will be doing final tweaks and getting it looking and working right before starting to roll it out to a few select "beta testers" from our YouTube, Twitter and Facebook pages, before finally giving it the all clear and going live and doing a membership drive with plenty of free stickers etc to help spread the word!

We have tried to cater for a large audience covering all PC Hardware areas, a dedicated Retro section for those of us who enjoy tinkering with retro hardware along with some Software, Gaming, Mobile devices, modifications and of course some general chat! - Anything you feel we have missed please do let us know!

So welcome aboard and we hope you enjoy the forum!

Martin,
Hardware Hackers Team

we ran the old forum for a good few years, probably 2-3 and had quite a big user base but to be honest other projects and commitments came up, we gradually took our eye off the ball, didn't attract new members, older members slowly left towards social networking groups and the rest is history!

Also worth noting, THANK YOU Nik for your contribution so far to the forum, we are really pushing hard on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc etc to bring traffic to the forum, and you have been really getting involved with the discussion.

I think the place will really start to pickup when people get involved.
Thank you.

I FINALLY found a place to discuss and chat with people who have the same thoughts about all the computer stuff, whether it's retro or modern or modded.

I joined the retro machines & modern machines groups on fb, I posted my daily machine and you liked it for the cable job.
That's what brought me here. ;)

Let's bring back the joy of the first HWH forum to this one and even more.

Is it possible to add an edit function for posts that've been already replied to?
I just wanted to add the text to project wildcat but I can't...

I think the forum software only allows an edit for a set period of time. I'm sure spruceguy can confirm, deny or fix it!

I can tidy it all up for you into one post if required

Pm's are currently switched off as he is designing a new profile feature that when you view someone's profile it gives more information, let's people list their hardware inventory and full system specs etc and its all integrated into the user accounts so Pm's have had to be temporarily turned off! More news soon!
