We are currently looking in to the viability to make our forum backwards compatible with older browsers.
So we are looking for screen shots from every browser so we can slowly implement a solution for each or maybe a sub site global fix :)

OK, here are some pics I took with the W2k machine using Firefox 2.0.20 @ 1024x768 px, no flash & no java installed (last running Version of FF on Win98/2000). The design looks very compressed and Icons won't be loaded. You can see the pictures and enllarge them with a click, but not the Videos.
When the pics are hosted on an external site, it takes a very long time to load them and some are missing.
After leaving a reply, you need to re-load the page to see it like before. Otherwise, it just looks odd.
No horizontal scrolling possible.
Tried IE5 as well, but it just refused to do anything at all.

I keep on checking browsers.
Just installed IE6 on Win2k and found some old versions of java.
Maybe flash works, too. Let's find out.

IE6 in base installation fails & stops responding when loading the homepage, but loads the forum if /community is added, looks wierd. Can't login, no fields displayed.
Pics won't load, text barely readable.

*installed Java JRE 5 update 22, no change
*installed Java JRE 6 update 17, no change
*installed Java JRE 6 update 20, no change
*installed Java JRE 6 update 30, no change (appears to be the last version running on W2k)

*installed flash player v.11.0.1.152, last version for W2k, loads homepage, but no login fields displayed in forum, horrible readability, no videos or pictures...no changes in Firefox, too.

oh wow!

Opera 12.02 works nearly perfectly.
slideshow on homepage works flawless, readability is...not the best, a bit too bright.
Text is not clearly displayed.
First browser that CAN handle youtube (even without stuttering) !!! :cheer:
no fullscreen video playback, just 360p supported and you should avoid to move the mouse while the video is running...

faster loading of posts with MANY external hosted pictures (like the WILDCAT thread ;) ), still a bit slow.
not the best pic quality, slow when pics enlarged.
the purple header won't fade out or move out when scrolling down the page, it always stays on top.

attachments button without function.
not uploading anything...

ah, the light purple overlay on the mainpage is missing, making the text quite unreadable on opera.
