Acer Altos 600 Dual PIII Server was created by Martin
PART 1

PART 2

Here we have a nice find we came across. An Acer Altos 600 Server. The machine was built around 2000 and features dual Socket 370's, Ours was fitted with a single 1GHz (133MHz Bus, 256KB L2) Pentium 3 Processor and also featured 128MB of PC133 ram.

The machine was filthy when it arrived, having had a long lifespan in a working environment. We fitted a 36GB 10,000RPM SCSI hard drive to get it going and after a deep clean where we scrubbed each component and rebuilt it after a few days drying time we fitted a further 1GHz PIII processor to make use of the machines dual CPU capability and MAXED out the ram at 1.5GB using 3x 512MB sticks of PC133 Registered RAM that we have from our HP server we featured in an earlier video.
