That's an odd one! its strange how these boards are being so buggy these days when they were rock solid back in the day, and its all ODD little quirky problems!

my buddy Flo said, it's a quite commeon thing that software reads the info vice versa.
right now I have 21C on the chip and 48C on the cpu running idle.
sounds correct, but the fans are quite loud, running at 3184 RPM (PSU) & 2766 RPM (CPU).

Hm, what do I have to modify to fit on the card? ;)

I actually have TWO 9600XT gfx cards... ;)

The Sapphire I posted and a Club 3D version with red glowing fan.
Modified Buddy again as the DVD-ROM won't read any discs (try to clean it later).
So I took a NEC and a Lite-On drive from the collection. ;)

Temperature after 1 hour prime95: 57C !
Now I'm happy with it.

The cooler I made was kept as big as possible as I was going for maximum effect.
You could chop down a spare cooler to suit (I think I needed the angle for mounting holes width) and then work out what needs to go for clearance and cut it down with a grinder or hacksaw till it fits and to be honest anything is going to be a serious improvement over the stock one as long as its wide enough to mount with the original cooler mount holes. If you have two you can mod one and leave other stock. :)

Transformed "Buddy" accidently into a quite daily useable machine during the "Retro Browser Compability Test"...
Found some flash and java versions that work, now I can even watch youtube videos in 360p. no fullscreen supported, but it works without stuttering. well...as long as you don't move the mouse over the video. ;)
network connection to the win7 main machine also works, makes some things a lot easier.
I started gaming on it, the first try was with Age of Empires 1 & 2. I always loved it, had some very long networks session back in the days. ;)
runs just perfectly as it's not very complex and even runs on Win98 with a low-end GFX-card...

Added 2nd OS to Buddy, now it runs W2k and XP with SP3. Still need to fine tune XP, it runs not as smooth as 2k does...

Awesome, you know i love a good boot sound. As much as i love the sound of a mechanical hard drive and using them in my retro builds, boy am i glad we no longer use them in our daily machines :cheer:

Quick update on this machine...
Fixed my old iOmega Zip100 and bought an Adaptec AHA2940U2W SCSI controller card to connect the DAT72 AND the ZIP drive.
Finally filled up the tower to the max [tons of cables behind the remaining slot ;))
