Project NONAME (for the moment) was created by Vampire
Since this is the start of a new build I guess this is the best place to post it.
My brother and I are going to transform this ordinary HP case into some thing more "custom" ;).

I started by removing the grille in the front to make room for a 140mm fan, as you can see in the pictures below.

It turned out great imo, but now I have to find a way to mount the fan. I am thinking of installing a sheet metal piece to the front and cut out a hole for the fan, but then I have to find a way to mount the sheet metal to the case. If any of you guys have ideas please let me hear!

This is as far as we have gotten right now. We still need to cut out the I/O panel in the rear because it is a non removable one and paint the inside black. :) I will post updates here as we make more progress.

1st idea:
you can drill some small holes (smaller than the screws) in the front and use self cutting screws with washers or tooth washers to mount the fan holder.

Why ???
Because I can !!!

I could install rubber washers in between the panel and the case to reduce vibrations :)

Awesome project cant wait to see how you get on.

Rivet's is always a cool way to mount piece like that, we also have a glue gun which comes in handy and is mega strong, and stops any vibration too!

Was thinking about using rivets since it will make it look factory and the glue sounds like a good idea :)

measure the size that fits IN the case, NOT the complete size.
Draw it onto the case, drill small holes in the corners of your drawing, than take a jigsaw with a metal blad and cut it carefully.
when you drill the holes, be sure to drill as LITTLE as possible into the remaining case.

try if your new panel has the opening for the ps/2 connectors in the same postion as the one in the case, they SHOULD be identical. If they are, you can use this as a fixpoint.
